RWTH poster attracts a lot of interest at AOTK!

On September 23-24 the 5th edition of the Aachener Ofenbau- und Thermoprozess-Kolloquium | ATOK took place in Aachen, Germany.

The event was organised for the first time on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the Institute of Industrial Furnaces and Heat Engineering (IOB) at RWTH Aachen University in May 2017 in Aachen. Since then, the Institute has organised the AOTK every two years, providing an opportunity for the whole community of thermo-processing plant manufacturers, industrial producers and research institutes to come together and exchange about newest research activities and projects.

This year, the conference took place for the first time in English, opening up to not only the German community but to partners from all across Europe. 177 people attended the conference.

Felix Kaiser – researcher and Manager of the Group Renewable energy and low CO2 process heating at the  Department for Industrial Furnaces and Heat Engineerin at RWTH presented a poster presenting the overall Syrius project. The poster presentation took place on the second day of the conference. Directly before, each poster presenter had the opportunity to quickly talk about the content of his or hers poster on stage for 1 minute, and then there was an hour of allocated time where the presenters where at their posters and people could come look and ask questions.

Felix Kaiser reports that “there was a lot of interest in the project, and over the hour I almost never had a minute alone at the poster.”
